23 Years Since Ben Curtis’ Open Win—Still Making an Impact
In 2003, Ben Curtis shocked the golf world by winning The Open Championship in his first major appearance. That victory launched a 15-year PGA Tour career, including four PGA Tour wins and a spot on the 2008 Ryder Cup Team.
In 2013, Ben and his wife, Candace, founded the Ben Curtis Family Foundation to alleviate childhood food insecurity throughout Northeast Ohio. Now in its 13th year, the Foundation’s Birdie Bag Program serves more than 6,100 children across 15 school districts, providing meals and snacks for weekends, school breaks, and summer when school is not in session. BCFF also hosts A Very Merry Dinner, providing holiday meals, gifts, and essential household items to more than 800 children and their families each holiday season.
