Choosing your Team
Each entry will select 4 players to make up their team. You will select 1 player within the Top 10 of the world golf rankings, 1 player in the Top 25 (11-25), 1 Player in the Top 50 (26-50) and 1 player from rest of field.
Scoring
Your teams aggregate score relative to par is your team score. Example:
Player | Rd.1 | Rd.2 | Rd.3 | Rd.4 | Total |
1. Scottie Scheffler | +3 | +4 | Cut | Cut | +14 |
2. Viktor Hovland | -1 | -1 | -1 | -1 | -4 |
3. Jason Day | -2 | -4 | +2 | E | -4 |
4. Ben Curtis (I’m Not playing) | -5 | -2 | -3 | -1 | -11 |
Your Team’s Score | -5 |
Please note: If one or more players on your team misses the cut, the 36 hole score for that player will be doubled and used in your total (for instance, you choose a player who misses the cut at +7, he will be counted at +14 for your total team score, see above example).
Also note that if you choose a player who is DQ or WD’s before or after the start of tournament, that player will receive the score of the player with the highest 36 hole score to make the cut and then doubled. This includes players who WD from Covid, back spasims, the yips or just a desire to avoid the rain, gusty winds and generally unsettling conditions forcasted this week in Scotland.
Our “Live Leaderboard” will refresh scores approximately every 60 seconds. You will receive a link to the live leaderboard during round 1. We will also send email updates periodically through the tournament, including a comprehensive daily update at the end of each day.
Tiebreaker
Each team entry will predict the winning score of the winning player of the Open Championship and this will be used to determine the winner. The person who selects the closest score to the actual winning score will be the winner. For example the winning score from the last played Open Championship was -9 by Xander Schauffele, so if Team 1 picks the winning score of -9 and Team 2 picks score of -2 then Team 1 will win the tiebreaker. If we still have a tie after that then we will split the winnings evenly. No tiebreaker will be used except for 1st place and the other ties will split the earnings. For example if we have 4 teams tied for 3rd place then we will split evenly the payout for place 3rd through 6th place.
Payout
1/3 of the pot and any and all extra donations go to the Ben Curtis Family Foundation to fund our mission to alleviate childhood hunger. The rest is used for participant payouts which will be detailed in a email to all entrants after the Tournament begins.
Entry Deadline
The deadline to make your donation, picks and play the game is WEDNESDAY, JULY 16 by 11:55 PM ET. Selections made after this time will be forfeited.
